Dino D'Santiago nominated to the Latin Grammys
The Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra was also nominated to the Annual Awards.
The Portuguese musician of Cape Verdian origin Dino d’Santiago has been nominated for the Latin Grammys for co-writing and performing the song ‘Esperança’.
According to the list of nominees released this Tuesday by the Latin Discographic Academy, the song ‘Esperança’, written by Brazilian musicians Criolo and Amaro Freitas with Brazilian producer Nave and Portuguese musician Dino d'Santiago, is nominated for the Latin Grammy for ‘Best Portuguese Language Song’.
The song, performed by Dino d'Santiago, Criolo and Amaro Freitas, was recorded between Portugal and Brazil and released last May.
In the “Best Arrangement” category, Portugal has another nominee: "Linha de Passe", arranged by Brazilian musician Nailor Proveta, which is part of the album "Músicas Brasileiras, Músicos Portugueses", released by the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos in March.
The 25th edition of the Annual Latin Grammys Awards is scheduled for November 14 in Miami, United States.
Mexican producer Edgar Barrera is the most nominated artist for this year's Latin Grammys, with nine nominations, followed by Colombian singer Karol G, who was in Portugal in July, and Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, both with eight nominations each.
In 2023 the ceremony took place outside the United States for the first time, specifically in Seville, Spain.
Among the nominees for the 2023 Latin Grammys were Portuguese singers Carminho and Maria Mendes.
